For Firmware versions 2.1.4.2 and higher

Log into the AEC 2.1 and upload the Firmware file(aec2_sys)into the controller(System->AdvanceSettings->FirmwareUpgrade).After successful completion it will prompt patch is updated. Reboot the system to take effect the new patch. After re-boot log-in screen will show the new patch version.
